~Mandie's Sailor Blouse~

My second entry for the Historical Costume Inspiration Festival.
The Inspiration...
The sailor blouse worn by Mandie in the cover illustrations of both Mandie and the Foreign Spies and Mandie and the Singing Chalet.

The Costume...
I used this vintage sailor blouse pattern that my mom used when she was a girl, sometime in the 70s I believe.

The blouse is made of white cotton material with red bias tape for the trim, and the skirt is my favorite half circle denim skirt.

"Mandie" and "Snowball", aka Tasha and Mitts.

Adorable, Tasha! That outfit is just darling. Your poses are so sweet;) I think #s 4 & 11 are my very favorites.
Love it, love it, love it!

Thank you, my dear! I did add a peplum to the blouse, but of course you can't see it as it's tucked in;)
I like both of those, too:)
Much love,
~Tasha~

I love this!! So perfectly Mandie-ish!
I adored those books when I was younger!!

Me, too! I loved Mandie, and have all of the books, which I read through at least 5 times when I was younger:)

It's beautiful Tasha! I love picture #7 and #8! I didn't start reading the mandy books until I was older so they weren't to impressive, but I enjoyed them anyway :).

I love both of those pics too, especially 8:)

LOVE 6 and 8! (Well, love all of them, but those are just sooo sweet!)
I'm trying to figure out how Alex got #12... was he in a boat in the water? Or did he just go wading? ;)

I love them all, too:) You should have seen me after Alex got #6, though - definitely the drunken sailor look;D
He was in the rowboat - it's a bit cold for wading right about now. But then, when has the cold stopped Alex? He's practically impervious to the cold!
